Ken Shaw to Receive 2008 Gold Ribbon Award for Outstanding Community Service
October 9, 2008Ottawa, October 9, 2008 – The CAB is pleased to announce that CTV News Toronto National Editor and Weekday Anchor, Ken Shaw, is the recipient of the 2008 Gold Ribbon Award for Outstanding Community Service by an Individual Broadcaster.
Devoted to enhancing and giving back to his community, Mr. Shaw dedicates countless hours every month to many causes and charitable organizations, including: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Canada; ProAction Cops & Kids; the Empire Club of Canada; and the Abilities Centre.
In addition to his own charitable activities, Mr. Shaw is associated with CTV’s various community outreach initiatives. He attends and/or emcees numerous community events – including fundraisers, dinners, galas, walks or concerts – and appears in public service announcements for organizations that CTV supports, such as Greater Toronto United Way and Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank.
The Gold Ribbon Award for Outstanding Community Service by an Individual Broadcaster will be presented to Mr. Shaw at the CAB Convention’s Gold Ribbon Awards Breakfast on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008.
